Differences in American and Malaysian Culture?

I'm doing an ignment on the differences between American (Western) culture and Malaysian (South-East Asian) culture. What type of experiences and/or problems would a 16-year-old American exchange student from LA get staying with a rural family in Malaysia? Specifically regarding the differences in cultural values.
