While The Great Gatsby portrays some women is pretty negative lights, I do not believe Fitzgerald meant it to be ist. You must consider Fitzgerald's era and life when asking this question: Zelda (his girlfriend) really put him through the ringer a few times, and women weren't really viewed that highly in the 20s anyways. So while Fitzgerald may have been jaded with women and his literature may have reflected that, I don't consider The Great Gatsby to be particularly ist.
