Can you delete money on the sims 3?

Okay when i started the sims 3 i used the motherlode cheat more than once and now my sims are rich but they have a child now and i wnat them to be on a fixed income(maybe 5000 a week) so that the child wont be spoiled.BTW my toddler is sooo adorable he has the deepest blue eyes and jet black hair with a cute little superman curl and he just so playful and cute,But thats off subject anyway if u kno of a way to get rid of monney let me know kk?
