Why would this female lecturer behave like this?

I think you are reading too much into your lecturer's motives. Don't be so willing to jump to conclusions. Your lecturer is more mature and experienced than you are, but she is still human like you. Try to get past your initial reactions and perhaps communicate with her more so you get to know her better. At the moment I don't think you know her very well.
